Extra bag and overweight fees
A third piece on a regional flight costs a flat 150 USD in either cabin. Overweight between 1 and 9 kg on a regional economy bag runs 15 USD per kilogram. Above 9 kg it converts to that same 150 USD charge.
On international flights a second bag is priced by destination. Figures on the carrier’s own fee table run about 100 USD to Johannesburg. Dubai runs 150 USD and Mumbai runs 220 USD.
Air Peace also allows baggage pooling. Two or more passengers on the same booking can combine their weight allowance. That avoids paying separately for one heavy bag.

The written Air Peace baggage policy reads cleanly. Traveler reviews on travel forums describe a rougher reality at times. Checked bags sometimes arrive on a later flight than the passenger.
That is not a lost bag outright, but it wrecks a tight connection just the same. Reviews also describe delays of two to four hours on single routes. A late departure often means a rushed bag load.
None of the reviews describe gate staff being lenient about the 6 kg domestic cabin limit. If anything, the low number and the separate 2 kg laptop allowance suggest something else. Lagos and Abuja check-in desks look used to enforcing it, not waving bags through.
How Air Peace compares to other African carriers
Regional peers are built differently. Kenya Airways and Ethiopian Airlines both fly to the US directly.
