Tunisair prices checked baggage by the piece on every route it flies, Europe included. Many nearby European carriers switched their close in network to a single shared weight pool years ago. The Tunisair baggage policy never made that switch.
Tunis to Paris and Tunis to Chicago work the same way under this policy. Passengers get a set number of bags at a set weight each, not a pool to split freely. There is also no layered Basic or Flex fare ladder to decode first.

Cabin baggage: one piece, and it means one piece
Economy passengers get exactly one cabin bag. It must weigh 8 kg or less. It must measure no more than 55 x 40 x 25 cm, about 21.7 x 15.7 x 9.8 inches, wheels and handles included.
A separate page on the same site states the cabin limit as 115 cm total for length plus width plus height. Pack to whichever ceiling is smaller. That keeps you clear either way.
Business class gets two cabin pieces at a combined 10 kg. Tunisair’s own wording does not carve out a free handbag or laptop bag on top of the Economy piece. A forum regular told a confused traveler the same thing: unless the airline states a personal item separately, one piece means one piece.
Checked baggage: still pieces, region by region

Libya is the outlier on this table. Economy gets one bag instead of two, but that single bag can weigh up to 32 kg.
Espace Privilege: the closest thing to a fare tier
Tunisair’s own useful information page lists checked baggage two ways. Economy class gets 23 kg. A service level called Espace Privilege gets 32 kg.
The site does not spell out what Espace Privilege actually is. It could be a paid cabin, a booking class, or a perk tied to the Fidelys loyalty program. That gap is worth naming rather than guessing at.
What is confirmed is the number itself. Under the current Tunisair baggage policy, 32 kg is the highest checked weight stated anywhere on its baggage pages, aside from that single Libya bag.
Excess baggage, overweight and oversize costs
Tunisair publishes a fee table by zone rather than one flat charge. The site lists excess fees in a range of roughly 45 to 325 Tunisian dinar. The exact amount depends on the route and whether the charge is for an extra piece, an overweight bag, or an oversize bag.
That range is too wide to compress into one number without risking the wrong figure for someone’s actual route. Prepaying online is cheaper than paying at the airport. Tunisair lists 125 to 225 TND from Tunisia, or a flat EUR 45, with GBP and CHF equivalents, from Europe to Tunisia.
Anyone checking a second or an oversized bag should confirm the exact number for their own route first. The published range covers many zones at once, so one figure will not fit every trip.
What travelers actually run into
The clearest community pattern sits on travel forums. One traveler described boarding a Tunisair flight and seeing plenty of oversized cabin bags stuffed into whatever space was free. No one weighed or checked a single cabin bag before boarding that flight.
That same traveler’s checked bag came in at 20 kg, comfortably under the 23 kg cap. A destination expert on the same forum pushed back on treating that as the norm.
Hand luggage can be weighed at any point, the expert warned, and an overweight bag can end up gate checked into the hold. Both threads are several years old. Treat lax gate enforcement as something that can happen, not something to plan around, and pack to the stated 8 kg limit anyway.

The Tunisair baggage policy holds few surprises once you know it never adopts a weight pool. Pack one 8 kg cabin bag to 55 x 40 x 25 cm. Expect two 23 kg checked bags on most routes, and check the fee table before adding a third.
Ask directly about Espace Privilege if a booking mentions it, since Tunisair’s own site does not fully explain what it covers. Travelers connecting through a regional hub instead of flying Tunisair directly should compare rules before assuming they carry over.
