What cannot go in the hold

Air India’s own FAQ does not spell out exactly how strict the counter is about a bag that runs a kilogram or two over. It only says prepaying excess baggage online is consistently cheaper than settling up at the airport.

That is the honest signal available here. Budget for the fee in advance. Do not gamble on a generous scale at check in.

Packing light enough to stay under the cap
