Czech Airlines no longer operates. The carrier flew its last flight in October 2024, so there is no current Czech Airlines baggage policy of its own to check.
That does not mean your flight is cancelled. If you booked something that felt like Czech Airlines, you are almost certainly flying Smartwings, and Smartwings rules apply.
What actually happened
Czech Airlines, known as CSA, was the Czech flag carrier for close to a century. Its flight operations ended in late 2024. They moved to Smartwings, the group’s other airline.
Flights that once carried the OK code now run under the QS code, on the Smartwings certificate. The company survives as a holding entity and a brand. It is not an operating airline.
The decisive detail is regulatory rather than commercial. Czech Airlines does not appear on the Czech aviation regulator’s list of certificate holders. Without that certificate an airline cannot fly at all.
Which Czech Airlines baggage rules apply to your ticket
Whatever Smartwings publishes for the fare you bought. The old CSA allowances are historical and should not be used to pack.
This matters because the two carriers were never alike. A flag carrier and a leisure operator price bags very differently, and fare bundles rarely map across one for one.
Check the fare name on your booking rather than the airline name on the aircraft. Some aircraft continued flying in old colors after the operations moved.
Why old guides still show CSA figures
Search results are full of Czech Airlines baggage tables, many labeled as current year guides. They describe an airline that stopped flying before those guides were written.
Old pages from the CSA website are also still indexed. They are leftovers from a site that is no longer maintained, not a live policy.
What to do before you fly
Find the operating carrier on your booking confirmation, not the brand you searched for. That is the airline whose rules govern your bag.
Then check the cabin bag size and weight for your specific fare. European carriers vary more on cabin weight than on dimensions. The cheapest fares often exclude a full size bag entirely.
That last point catches people. Cabin bag sizes look broadly similar across Europe while the weight limits behind them do not.

There is no Czech Airlines baggage allowance to follow in 2026. The airline stopped flying in October 2024 and its routes moved to Smartwings under the QS code.
