Riyadh Air launched flights in 2026. It now publishes a full baggage allowance policy on its own site, covering both cabin bags and checked bags. The rules differ by cabin class, by Fare Bundle, and by route.
There is no single flat number for the whole airline. Check your fare type before you rely on any part of the Riyadh Air baggage allowance to pack.
Carry-on limits by cabin
Every cabin gets the same bag size, 56 by 36 by 23 cm. In inches that is 22 by 14 by 9.
The weight allowance changes by cabin. Economy allows 7 kg, premium economy allows 12 kg, and business class allows 15 kg.
You also get one personal item. It can weigh up to 7 kg and measure up to 45 by 35 by 25 cm.

Checked baggage: the weight concept explained
On international flights, economy Lite fares get 25 kg. Smart fares get 30 kg, and Flex fares get 35 kg.
Premium economy runs from 35 kg to 45 kg. Business class runs from 45 kg on Smart fares up to 65 kg on the top Elite fare.
Domestic flights within Saudi Arabia are stricter. The Lite economy fare carries no free checked bag at all, and any allowance has to be purchased separately.
Oversize and overweight bags
Each checked bag can measure up to 158 cm in total length, width, and height combined. Between 158 cm and 300 cm, an oversize fee applies at the check-in counter.
Riyadh Air does not publish that fee amount online. No single checked bag may weigh more than 32 kg, or 70 lb, no matter your total weight allowance.
That 32 kg cap matches most Gulf and European carriers. It exists mainly for baggage handler safety.
How Riyadh Air compares to other Saudi carriers
Saudi Arabia’s flag carrier Saudia uses a similar weight based system on many routes. Budget carrier flynas instead charges for nearly every checked bag on its base fare.
Riyadh Air sits closer to Saudia’s full service model. Free checked weight is built into every fare above the cheapest domestic tier.
If you are connecting from a US carrier onto Riyadh Air, the airline running your first international segment usually sets the checked baggage rule for the whole ticket. That follows standard interline practice.
What travelers are reporting so far
Riyadh Air is still a young carrier. Public complaints about gate enforcement have not built up the way they have for older airlines.
