On Economy Flex, Aegean’s own baggage allowance page lists cabin allowance as ‘1 piece only.’ Choose a personal item, or a carry-on up to 8 kg. Business class raises that to 13 kg, but the rule stays the same.

Carry-on size depends on which plane you board
On Airbus jets, Aegean allows a carry-on up to 56 x 45 x 25 cm. That is about 22 x 17.7 x 9.8 inches. On turboprop aircraft, the smaller planes Aegean and Olympic Air fly to Greek islands, the limit drops to 55 x 40 x 23 cm, about 21.7 x 15.7 x 9.1 inches.

What checked baggage Aegean actually includes
Economy Light includes no checked bag at all. If your carry-on cannot fit and the cabin is full, Aegean will check it free at the gate. That is not the same as a paid checked allowance.
Economy Flex includes one checked bag up to 23 kg. Business includes two bags, each up to 32 kg. Every bag must also stay within 158 cm, or 62 inches, total length, width, and height combined.
The hard weight ceiling, and what happens past it
Thirty two kilos is not a suggestion on Aegean. It is the stated maximum for anything checked as ordinary baggage. Heavier items travel as cargo instead, at cargo rates.
Aegean treats 23 to 32 kg as overweight. That tier carries its own surcharge, on top of any fee for an extra piece. Pack close to 23 kg if your fare only covers that much.
Oversize and sports equipment fees are published, bag fees are not
Aegean publishes flat fees for equipment that breaks the size limit but not the weight limit. Items up to 1.40 m cost EUR 35. Items from 1.41 to 2 m cost EUR 55, and anything longer costs EUR 80, each capped at 32 kg.

Buy baggage before you fly, not at the counter
Aegean lets you add checked bags up to two hours before departure. Prepaying online tends to beat airport prices. Family fare buyers even get a 50 percent discount on prepaid extra bags.
Call in after your ticket is issued, and Aegean adds an EUR 8 service fee. Skip the phone call if you can manage the booking yourself.

Aegean publishes the one piece rule for Economy Flex, but travelers describe active checks, not just a posted sign. At Athens and Santorini in particular, staff reportedly walk the waiting area before boarding to look at bags and size them on the spot. Travelers who have hit the one item rule describe Aegean as strict about ONE, not ‘one and maybe.’
The turboprop legs to the islands draw the most enforcement reports. On at least one Athens to Ikaria hop on an ATR72, everyone in a group of a dozen travelers had their carry-on weighed before boarding, with overweight bags checked right at the gate. That matches the published size drop on turboprop aircraft, but travelers add that the weighing itself is the part the website never mentions.

Aegean’s fare comparison tool did not show piece counts for the Family and Comfort Flex fares when we checked. It also does not publish exact personal item dimensions. We would rather say so than invent a number, in line with our editorial policy.
