Jetstar baggage allowance for carry-on: one combined weight, two bags

The catch is the weight. Both bags share a single 7kg limit, about 15.4 lb, instead of getting separate allowances.

Jetstar has flagged that new carry-on rules start February 2, 2027. This upgrade will stop being sold at that point. The new limits were not published currently, so confirm again closer to travel if you fly after that date.
Checked bags: not included on the cheapest fare
Economy Starter, Jetstar’s base US fare, includes carry-on only. No checked bag comes with it, and Jetstar’s own checked baggage page states this plainly.
Step up to the Starter Plus Bundle and 20kg of checked baggage is included. A seat and food or drink come with it too.
Passengers can also add checked baggage on its own, up to 40kg total per person. No single bag can weigh more than 32kg. That means 35kg or 40kg worth of luggage has to be split across at least two bags.
Jetstar does not list a fixed price for a first or second checked bag on its site. Cost depends on the route and how far ahead you buy it. The only reliable number comes from running your own dates through checkout.
Oversize items and that unusual currency
Any bag with one side longer than one meter, 39 inches, counts as oversized. That includes wheels and handles in the measurement.
