The weight limit is 10 kg, roughly 22 lb. That figure covers the carry-on bag plus any personal item together, not each piece on its own. A handbag, camera bag or umbrella counts as the personal item and must fit under the seat ahead.
Anything too large to stow safely gets gate checked. There are no exceptions for a bag that is merely close to the limit.
Checked baggage rules
AIRDO changed its checked baggage terms partway through 2026. For flights boarding on or after May 19, 2026, the standard weight per checked item is 23 kg.
A bag can weigh up to 45 kg with an overweight fee. Total weight per passenger stays capped at 100 kg.
Each checked item’s three dimensions must sum to 158 cm or less. Oversized items are accepted up to 292 cm for an extra charge.
The new schedule also limits travelers to two checked items as standard. AIRDO has said the exact fees for extra pieces, overweight bags and oversize bags will be published separately.
Check the current fee table on AIRDO’s own site before flying. Do not trust the older 2,500 to 4,500 yen bands from before May 2026.
