LOT caps your cabin bag by total dimensions as well as by height, width and depth. The three sides added together must not exceed 118 centimeters, which is a second test most airlines do not apply.
A bag can pass the individual measurements and still fail that sum. It is the quiet catch in LOT baggage rules.
The two tests your cabin bag must pass
First, the bag must be within 55 by 40 by 23 centimeters, roughly 21.7 by 15.7 by 9.1 inches. That is the standard European frame.
Second, those three numbers added together must come to 118 centimeters or less. The maximum frame itself totals exactly 118.
So a bag at the full size passes by a hair. Anything oversized in one dimension fails the sum even if the others are small.
Even the cheapest fare gets a cabin bag
Economy Saver includes a cabin bag. That is more generous than most European carriers now offer on their entry fare.
The weight limit is 8 kilograms and it applies to the cabin bag alone. The personal item has its own separate limit.
Where Saver falls short is the hold, which we come to below.
The personal item is small and light
The personal item is 40 by 35 by 12 centimeters, roughly 15.7 by 13.8 by 4.7 inches, up to 2 kilograms. Every ticket includes it.
Twelve centimeters of depth is tight. This is a laptop sleeve or a slim tote rather than a backpack.
The 2 kilogram limit matches TAP as the strictest we track. You cannot move much weight out of the cabin bag here.
Checked allowance on Europe to USA routes
Business includes three bags at 32 kilograms each. Premium Economy includes two at 23 kilograms.
Economy Full Flex, Flex and Standard each include one 23 kilogram bag. Economy Saver includes none.
So Saver is a cabin bag fare. LOT baggage rules keep what most carriers take away and take away what most carriers keep.
Why there is no excess fee table
LOT does not publish excess or overweight prices on its baggage pages. It refers instead to a separate annex.
We publish figures we have read from the carrier’s own pages, so no fee table appears here. That standard is set out in our verification policy.

How LOT baggage rules compare
The cabin frame matches Lufthansa and Austrian, and the 8 kilogram limit does too. The 118 centimeter sum is LOT’s own addition.
On fare entitlement LOT is friendlier in the cabin than the Lufthansa group. Economy Basic there is personal item only on short haul.
Our European carry-on size guide compares the field.
The bottom line
LOT baggage rules give you a cabin bag on every fare and then measure it twice. Check the sum of your three dimensions before you fly.
Confirm the numbers in the size checker before you buy luggage for a Warsaw connection.
